The 4th of July is one of my most favorite holidays, only second to Halloween, so I wanted to create some new decor for this year's celebration. I put together this fun 3D cardstock framed art, with classic colors and a gold star shining behind it all! I love how this all came together and it’s going to be part of my decor for years to come.
To create this 3D cardstock art, you will need:
- Cardstock Warehouse Papers:
- Dawn Lessebo Colours 100lb
- White Lessebo Colours 100lb
- Navy Blue Lessebo Colours 100lb
- Antique Gold Stardream 105lb
- Cherry Wood Veneer
- Cricut Maker or Explore
- Foam pop dots
- Glue
- 10x10 Frame with 8x8 Mat
Now that you have everything you need, let’s get to work creating this fun 3D cardstock art!
To begin, cut all of your pieces on your cutting machine.
The cutting file for this project can be found by clicking this link to Cricut Design Space: 3D 4th of July Cardstock Art
After cutting out all of your paper pieces, you’ll start by assembling some of the smaller pieces. We will start with gluing together the Statue of Liberty pieces.
Next you are going to assemble the “July” phrase pieces, some of the letters are layered together. Stack them together and attach using glue.
The gold star is then glued to the cherry veneer background.
Now that we have all of the little pieces assembled, we are going to layer everything together, start by attaching the Statue of Liberty with foam dots.
Then we are going to layer all of the letters to the art using glue and adhesive foam dots. The areas that layer over the Statue of Liberty are glued to that layer, and anything hanging over the edges or surrounding it are attached using foam dots.
Center the completed art in the center of the mat opening and attach using tape or glue. The last step is to insert the matted art into the frame.
This craft was so fun and easy to do, I might make a few more and give them to a few friends and family as gifts!
