Paper Backpack Coloring Favor Box

Halloween Backpack Favor Box

Hi, Crafty Friends! I wanted to share with you all such a cute, versatile box that can be used for special holidays or kids parties. Let's get started!

Supplies:

  • Cardstock Warehouse Papers:
    • Onyx Stardream Metallic 105lb
    • Arancio Sirio Color 80lb
    • Purple Colorplan 100lb
  • Backpack Cut File - MrJoCrafts
  • Embellishment Cut Files: Pumpkin Face, Bat, and Spider came from Cricut Design Space
    • #M4EF3B6FC, #M4EFBCD20, #M4EFA897A
  • Velcro
  • Cutting Machine
  • Bearly Arts Glue
  • Printable paper for Coloring Sheets

As always, I start by uploading my project into Cricut. After cutting, I lay out all of my pieces. This bag comes in two pieces so I decided first to fold along all of the score lines for the bag, envelope, and crayon box.

After all of my folding was done, I grabbed the triangle pieces around the top curve of the bag, added some Bearly Arts glue, and applied some pressure to allow it to glue down in place nice and firm.

I then went ahead and glued the front 2/3 of the bag so I could place the “front” of the box panel down. After I had it secured in place, I added glue to the remaining side and let it dry. While the bag was drying, I prepped some of the remaining pieces.

You’ll want to place the straps for the back and top of the bag through the cut inserts and glue them flat. I gave mine a nice little curve using my finger to give them some character.

Now you can go ahead and glue the side panels and front of the bag (inset piece, mine was orange) directly onto your bag base.

Now you can decorate your bag - I did this step last and made my work a little harder as I didn’t have a flat surface anymore because my bag was fully assembled.

The envelope and crayon box are super simple to assemble. After the score lines are folded, simply add some glue and seal.

At this time, you can go ahead and attach the crayon box to the bag, and finally the back panel with the straps. I added a small piece of velcro to the envelope and top of the bags so that they can be opened/closed. I also used coloring sheets that were 2.25” x 3.4” to fit inside the envelope.

Now you have the cutest little backpack! I can’t wait to see how else you decorate these. I filled mine up with candy and I’ll be making another for my two nephews!
