Happy Holidays, Friends! I can’t believe it is almost Thanksgiving, this year is flying by! A lot of people decorate for Christmas after Thanksgiving so I thought it would be the perfect time to do some Christmas crafts! Today we are going to make a 3D Christmas Light Garland using classic Christmas colors. Classic Christmas colors are my favorite so I’m super excited about this project. Let’s get started!
Gather your supplies, you will need:
- Cardstock-Warehouse Papers:
- Classic Christmas Multi Pack 100lb (Includes: Forest, Lockwood, Bright White, Vermillion, and Scarlet)
- 3D Lights SVG File from FloralFlairStudio
- Glue gun
- Twine
- 2 Way Zig Pen
To start, you will need this cut file from FloralFlairStudio. I uploaded it into Cricut Design Space (you can use any software that uses svg files). I resized my file so each light is 3” tall. I am using the Classic Christmas Multipack. It comes with five colors- Forest, Lockwood, Vermillion, Scarlet, and Bright White. I am also going to use Silver Mirricard Mirror paper for the little "metal" top.
Now, cut out all the pieces.
Next, fold each light bulb piece along the score lines. There are 4 pieces per light. Leave one lightbulb per color flat because that will be the base for the lightbulb.
Take your hot glue gun and add some glue along the fold of the light bulb and place it into the flat piece.
Once you have your lightbulb assembled, assemble the tops of the lights by gluing the Silver Mirror piece with the cutouts on top of the solid Silver Mirror piece. Now, take the assembled "metal" base and glue it to the back of the lightbulb.
Here's what all of your pieces will look like when they are assembled. I made two of each color for my garland.
Finally, glue them to the twine/ribbon using hot glue.
Ta-da! We have a beautiful garland! This can be hung or strung down the middle of the table.
Thank you for following along!
