Hello crafty friends! I hope you're having a great day! Fall is right around the corner and today I'm excited to share with you a card project celebrating the upcoming season. These cardstock colors paired so perfectly with the leaf dies to make a gorgeous autumn card.
Supplies:
- Cardstock Warehouse Cardstock Paper:
- Lessebo Colours 100lb: White, Canary, and Cherry
- Verdigris Green Materica 92lb
- Gold Mirror
- Distress Spritz: Twisted Citron, Walnut Stain, Barn Door, Fossilized Amber
- Argyle Embossing Folder (or embossing folder of your choice)
- Autumn Leaves Dies or die cut file
- Sentiment stamp/die
- Adhesives: Liquid Glue & Foam Tape
- Embellishment Gems (optional)
To begin, I applied Distress Spritz on some scrap pieces of Canary, Verdigris, and Cherry. I used a mix of the spritz colors listed above. This is such a fun way to add some flair to your die cuts. I find it easier to spray them first, then cut the shapes.
I then used Spellbinders Autumn Leaves die set to cut the leaves out of my three sprayed colors plus gold mirror. I always cut more than I need so I don't have to go back and cut more once I start gluing. You can also cut a ton of leaves and make multiple cards.
Next, I cut a 3.75" x 5" White Lessebo panel and embossed it using Spellbinders Argyle Socks. You can use any embossing folder you have that fits your theme.
I then adhered the embossed panel to a 4" x 5.25" Gold Mirror mat. You can pop this piece up with foam tape to give it some dimension if you wish.
I then stamped and cut the sentiment using White Lessebo paper. You can also heat emboss your sentiment if you like.
Next, I positioned the elements on the card front. I like to do a dry fit before I glue to make sure everything is where I want it to be.
After I adhered all of the elements to the panel, I added a few embellishment gems. I love the little pop of sparkle that gems add to your cards. They also give you a more polished look! Finally, I adhered the entire panel to a 4.25"x5.5" top folding card base. If you don't want to make your own card base, you can use one of Cardstock Warehouse's pre-cut folded cards. These are so convenient for card makers!
I hope you enjoyed this tutorial, and it inspired you to Make Something Beautiful® this autumn!
