Hi everyone! Natasha of @PoliteCreations, joining you today on the blog with a sunflower inspired card perfect for fall crafting. I have created a video tutorial of my process. If you would like to watch the tutorial, you can find my YouTube video at the end of the blog.
Supplies:
- Cardstock Warehouse Cardstock Paper:
- Colorplan 100lb: Rust & Chartreuse
- Speckletone Kraft 100lb
- Lessebo Canary 100lb
- Altenew Whimsical Flower Vine Die Set
- Enamel Dots
- Sentiment Stamp & Die Set
- Inks: Permanent Black, Lemonade Stand, Canyon Clay, Mountain Pine, Dark Chocolate
- Adhesives: Precision Glue and Foam Dots
- Misti stamping tool
- Paper cutter
- Scissors
- White Out Pen
To begin, I die cut the vine from Chartreuse six times, only using four of the die cuts. The flowers were die-cut from Canary four times, and the circle centers were cut twice from Kraft. I then added ink to each die cut in a coordinating color. Mountain Pine was used for the vines, Lemonade Stand for the flowers, and Dark Chocolate for the flower centers.
Once everything was inked, I began adhering two of the vines to an A2 panel of Rust that had inked edges in Canyon Clay. I then added a flower where the keyhole shape coordinated. With the first layer of flowers in place, I added a small foam square to each flower center and adhered a second flower. This created dimension for the flowers. I then went back and adhered a flower center to each flower, adding more ink as needed.
An optional step that I took was to add Enamel Dots over the flower centers. If you did not want any additional dimension on the flowers, you could skip this step, but I liked the way it looked. Once that was complete, I decided to cut the A2 panel down to 3.75 x 5. I then added a sentiment from my sentiment stamp set that was stamped using Permanent Black ink onto Rust paper and then die-cut.
For the A2 Kraft background, I grabbed two of the vines to cut and adhered them around the edges of the panel. I wanted these to be visible and to add more texture. I adhered the Rust panel to the Kraft panel. My card was then complete. I loved all of the fall colors and contrast!
