Nothing says summer travel quite like a trip to the beach! Whether it’s by the coast or at the lake, visiting the beach is a summer travel must for my family. We visited San Diego, California last month, which had me inspired by all things beach and travel. This adorable gift card holder is the perfect way to celebrate a summer birthday, ladies trip, or even a fun way to enclose your vacation hotel key card.

- Beach Bag Gift Card Holder File from NovaeMakersMart on Etsy (Be sure to check out all of their files! SO many great ones!)
Start by uploading the SVG file and formatting it for your cutting machine. For some machines, you will need to make sure the score lines are in the correct format. Once your files are ready, have your machine cut and score all of the pieces. I used all of the colors listed above. I used Cricut Design Space to complete this project.
We'll start with the front of the bag. Fold the large bag piece in half, using the score line as your guide. I used a bone folder to get a more accurate crease. Bone folders are so handy for paper crafting!
Then glue the inside edges of the folded piece, creating the main portion of the beach bag. Be sure to only add glue along the left and right edge so that it creates a pocket for the insert to slide into.
Adhere the striped piece to the front of the bag. Lastly, glue the curved strap to the top of the bag.
Now it’s time to fold and glue the beach bag insert. Start by folding the score line towards the insert piece. Then fold and glue the tabs to the back. This creates a little pocket for the gift card to relax in.
Next, glue together all the beach bag pieces including the towel, sun hat, sandals, beach ball, and book.
Attach the towel, starfish, hat, and sunglasses on the front of the beach bag using liquid glue. This bag has all the essentials (maybe minus some sunscreen 😉).
For the beach bag insert, glue the second curved strap to the back and the book, sandals, and beach ball to the front. All these little details are just so cute!
It’s time to hit the beach! This beach-inspired gift card holder is ready to spread some sunshine. You could also glue this to the front of a greeting card for a fun beachy birthday card!
