Don't let all the pieces and layers scare you. This card is really super simple to make. It is a slimline measuring 8 ½" by 3 ½" when folded (8.5" x 7" before folding) and I used Aquamarine for the base. This will be the background sky color for the design. I die cut all of the images; waves, sand, palm trees, the birdhouse, clouds, birds and seashells. I have labeled the colors in the photo below.
I adhered the sand pieces (I like to use glitter paper for this because it gives that extra detail to your design), palm trees and waves to the slimline base. The very bottom sand piece is adhered with foam tape. I then stamped the sentiment with black ink.
I added foam tape behind the birdhouse and tucked in the post behind the raised sand piece at the bottom, this gives the birdhouse dimension. Having a white birdhouse with a little red and blue makes it pop off the card. The post and paddles are made from the White Birch cardstock and it is perfect for the wood elements on this card. I added the clouds, birds, and seashells to the card.
I used a White Gel Pen to add highlights to some of the images, this detail gives life to a die cut. I finished the card by adding some dew drops to the sand.
Here's how it looks when it is all done! I can't wait to send a little slice of the beach to someone special!
I hope you enjoyed this project, have a wonderful day!
