Hi, crafty friends! I’m loving that flowers are blooming and birds are singing. It is definitely that time of year! I created a slimline card with a beautiful bird and blooming flowers. I hope you enjoy this project!
Supplies
- Cardstock Warehouse Cardstock Papers
- Rose Quartz 105lb Stardream Metallic
- Fairway 105lb Stardream Metallic
- Sorbet Yellow 100lb Colorplan
- Regal White 100lb Royaltone Linen
- Smoke Grey 100lb Colorplan
- White Birch Wood Veneer
- Turquoise 100lb Colorplan
- Ebony 100lb Colorplan
- Rich Cream 100lb Royaltone Linen
- Cobalt Blue 100lb Colorplan
- Bird die or svg files
- Sentiment stamp
- Spellbinders: Gaillardia Etched Dies
- Gold embossing powder
- Clear Embossing Ink
- Die-cutting Machine
- Liquid Glue
- Tool-n-One (optional)
I die cut the bird pieces from Rich Cream, Turquoise, Cobalt Blue, Ebony, and Smoke Grey. The wings and head feathers are Turquoise, the chest and around the eye is Rich Cream, the body is Cobalt Blue, the feet and beak are Smokey Grey, and the eye is Ebony. The tree branches are die-cut from White Birch which I die-cut twice.
Next, the flowers are die-cut from Rose Quartz, Fairway, and Sorbet Yellow. I die-cut multiples of each flower and leaf. I used the Tool-n-One to give shape to the flowers and leaves.
I assembled the flowers together by stacking the petals on top of each other and adding a green center with liquid glue, then I assembled the bird and adhered it with liquid glue.
It’s time to assemble the card. I cut a piece of Royaltone Regal White to 8 ¼ x 3 ¼ , I kept the heavily textured side up. I used foam tape behind the branches and bird. Then I glued the flowers and leaves onto the branches. I added a gold heat embossed sentiment and added the card panel to a slimline cardbase (8 ½ x 3 ½ when folded). And there you have it! A simple but beautiful spring card!
