Hanukkah is right around the corner, and I have the perfect craft for you! These 3D dreidels are so easy and fun to put together, and they are so useful! Not only can you spin these like a traditional dreidel, but you can also fill them with treats, use them at a place setting at your Hanukkah table, or make them with your family at your Hanukkah gathering. You could even make bigger ones and use them as home decor! Let's get started!
Supplies:
- Cardstock Warehouse Papers:
- Hues of Blue Colorplan Multipack- 100lb (Includes Sapphire, Adriatic, Tabriz, New Blue, and Azure)
- Bearly Art™ Glue
- Clothespins (optional)
- 3D Dreidel SVG file from RisaRocksIt
Start by die cutting all of your pieces. I cut the dreidel and inside panel pieces out of each of the 5 colors from the Hues of Blue multipack and then mixed and matched the panels with the outer box pieces to get 5 unique color variations.
Fold all of the score lines, making sure that you are folding the correct direction so the symbols face the correct way when put together.
Glue each of the inside panels to the back of the symbols inside the box.
Once all 4 of your panels are attached, you can begin to glue the box together. I started by gluing the 4 points together at the bottom, then the side seam. I used a clothespin to hold the seams closed until the glue was fully dry.
The last step is to make the handle of the dreidel. Fold the score lines on the handle and glue together the seam that runs down the length of the handle. Then, insert the tabs into the hole in the top of the box, add glue to the tabs, and fold them down to the inside of the top of the box. Hold them in place with your fingers or clothespins until they are dry. I made sure mine were nice and sturdy so I could actually spin these dreidels.
And there you have it! These come together so easy, and you can make them as big or as small as you like. I plan to stuff mine with little candies and place them at everyone's place setting before dinner.
