Hi crafty friends, I hope you are ready for a fun and cute Halloween project. I love Halloween and, of course, the treats that go along with it. There are so many cute treat bags out there but, not many treat boxes. I have made these cute little bats that can hold some hauntingly delicious treats. I hope you enjoy this project.
Supplies:
- Cardstock Warehouse Cardstock Papers: Ebony Black, Pale Grey, Smoke Grey, Dark Grey, Bright White, Orange Fizz, Lemon Drop, Pink Lemonade, Punch Stardream, Silver Mirrisparkle
- Dies: Treat Box + Bats
- Die Cut Machine
- Black Glaze Pen
- White Gel Pen
- Foam Tape
- Liquid Glue
- Score Tape
I die cut 5 box bases, 2 in Ebony, 1 each in Real Grey, Smoke Grey and Dark Grey. Starting from left to right in the photo, the first box is die cut, the second box is folded on score lines, the third box has score tape on two flaps on both sides, the fourth box is folded and tape is adhered, and the fifth box is closed and completely assembled.
Then I die cut the faces and feet in the matching colors as the boxes, the two sets of wings in Ebony and Punch, the cheeks in Pink Lemonade, and the vest in Silver Mirrisparkle.
There are two pieces that go behind the face for the eyes and fangs. I die cut those from Ebony and Bright White. I then used liquid glue to adhere them.
I glued the bat faces to the box, then I folded the large wings on the score line. I used foam tape for the wings on the sides of the box and then used liquid glue to adhere then to the front of the bat.
I die cut the candy out of Ebony, Bright White, Orange Fizz, and Lemon Drop card stocks. I adhered them together and placed two inside the bat wings before adhering them down with liquid glue.
I assembled all the bats. I glued the smaller wings to the back of the face then glued it to the box. I added the feet, cheeks and vest, then added black the glaze pen to the eyes and when they dried I added some white gel pen to the eyes and some highlights to the wings.
Now just fill them with some fun treats and enjoy!
I hope you feel inspired by this project!
