Ocean Die Cut Layers Birthday Card

Ocean Die Cut Layers Birthday Card

Hi Crafty friends, I hope your week is going great! I love summer and the beach so much, so for this project I made a beachy, oceany card with a birthday sentiment. I am using some really beautiful colors of cardstock. I die cut everything except the sentiment and birds. I hope you enjoy it. Let’s get started.

Supplies

  • Cardstock Warehouse Cardstock Papers
    • Orange Fizz
    • Lemon Drop
    • Cotton Candy
    • Ebony Black
    • Bright White
    • Nightshift Blue
    • Bright Blue
    • Blu Raspberry
    • Desert Sand MirriSparkle
  • Dies
  • Die Cut Machine
  • Paper Trimmer
  • Tape Runner
  • Black Ink

I started by die cutting the waves using three colors of blue. I wanted it to look like the ocean went out far and deep. I die cut the sand from Desert Sand MirriSparkle; it is perfect with all the glitter. I used a hillside die for the sand.

I cut a bunch of strips of paper in different sizes using Cotton Candy and Orange Fizz cardstock. I glued them onto the top of an A2 size panel. I want the look of a sunset. Then I die cut a circle out of the glued paper layers. I also die cut a circle using the same die out of Lemon Drop cardstock.

I assembled the waves, trimmed down the panel ½” on all sides. I then adhered that panel to a slightly larger piece of Ebony cardstock. Finally, I glued in the yellow piece of cardstock.

I stamped the “Happy Birthday” sentiment and the birds in black ink. I then glued the panel to an A2 size white card base made from Bright White Colorplan. To finish the card I added a few small dew drops.
