Paper Candy Heart Valentine Wreath

Candy Heart Valentine Wreath

Hi Crafters! Valentine’s Day is around the corner and I thought it would be fun to make a cute candy heart wreath! Because what’s Valentine’s Day without candy hearts?! ❤️

Gather your supplies and follow along!

SUPPLIES:

  • Cardstock Warehouse Cardstock Papers
    • Bright Red Colorplan 100lb
    • Fuchsia Colorplan 100lb
    • Cipria Woodstock 105lb
    • Gesso Materica 92lb
    • Verdigris Materica 92lb
  • Cutting Machine
  • Hot Glue Gun
  • Wreath Base
  • 1.5” Ribbon of your choice
  • Foam Tape
  • Twine

Begin by opening up your design software. Add a circle and make it 11”, then duplicate that, size it down slightly and slice it so you can replicate a wreath base. This will help you with sizing your candy hearts and the foliage. Next, add some pretty foliage. I used #M435FF3AC and #M4048F275. I sized each to 4” tall. Duplicate those a few times as well. Next, find some cute candy hearts! I purchased an SVG file from Etsy but Design Space has some also.

Once you have a mockup of your wreath, choose the colors for each element. Then begin cutting! I cut my hearts out of Bright Red, Fuchsia, and Cipria, my leaves out of Verdigris Green, and the center layers of the hearts out of Gesso White.

To assemble each heart, take the heart with the phrase and add it to the top of the white heart, then add mounting tape to the back of that and adhere it to the same color base heart as the heart with the phrase on it. The two colored layers give a great 3d effect!

Next, prepare your base. I recycled a cardboard box to cut my wreath base but there are many other options for this. Again, I cut my base to 11” all around.

Next, add ribbon around the base. I chose a 1.5” white ribbon and attached it with hot glue.

Then, take your assembled candy hearts and foliage, along with your wreath base and begin assembling! I didn’t have any specific pattern to assembling it, I just went with what I thought was cute by layering the leaves and also layering the hearts slightly on top of one another.

Lastly, add twine to the back of the wreath with hot glue so you can hang it.

And voila- a beautiful candy heart wreath for Valentine’s Day!
