Paper Diamond Cuts Birthday Card

Paper Diamond Cuts Birthday Card

Hi everyone, this is Joy with Create It With Joy. This card is definitely one of my favorites! I am in love with the colors and textures of all of these papers that I used for this card. I was inspired by St. Patrick's day, with the greens and golds and of course I needed to change it up a little and add my favorite color, Lagoon. I hope this card inspires you to make something beautiful!

Supplies

  • Cardstock Warehouse Cardstock Papers: Madero Beach, Rose Gold Mirror, Desert Sand Sparkle, Spearmint, Park Green, Lagoon Stardream
  • Ranger Ink: Super Fine Detail White Embossing Powder, Grey Tinted Embossing Ink
  • Simon Says Stamp: Ultra Fine Rose Gold Embossing Powder, Clear Embossing Ink, Tiny Words Stamp
  • Honeybee Stamps: Small Clear Dew Drops
  • The Stamp Market: Fine Lines Stamp, Floral Diamond Die
  • Die-cutting Machine
  • Foam Tape
  • Liquid Glue
  • Heat Gun

I am so in love with this color combo and these diamond shapes show them off perfectly. This card is really so simple to make, these colors absolutely make the card! To start off, I simply die cut a couple diamonds out of each color of cardstock: Rose Gold, Desert Sand, Spearmint, Park Green and Lagoon, using the diamond die from the Floral Diamond Die set.

I am using Madero Beach for the background panel of this card. I love the color and it goes great with the diamonds. I stamped the Fine Lines image with clear embossing ink, then used white embossing powder and heated that until melted. It is a subtle look so as to not take away from the diamonds.

I used foam tape behind all of the diamonds to give great dimension to this card. They fit perfectly in the open spaces of the stamped image. I then trimmed off all the excess pieces and glued it to an A2 size card base.

Using the “birthday wishes” sentiment from the Tiny Words Stamp set, I stamped that on some Madero Beach Cardstock with Grey Tinted Embossing Ink and embossed it with Ultra Fine Rose Gold Embossing powder. I heated that with a heat gun until melted and trimmed it down. I used foam tape behind the sentiment and centered it in the diamond. To finish the card I added some clear dew drops.
