To begin, choose your favorite leaf cut file, punch, die, or shape and cut out many of them. I used my Silhouette and cut one of the leaf wreaths out in each color and 2 in the parchment paper. All said I think I ended up with 55 separate leaves to choose from.
For the background, I used the True White Speckletone cardstock. I was looking for a white background that wasn’t a bright white. This was perfect because it has an off-white color with specks in it that makes it look recycled. It made the leaves stand out perfectly, even the parchment ones.
Next, I laid out my leaves. I wanted them to look like they were falling around the page. I tried to alternate the colors so that there weren’t same colors next to each other. I lightly adhered the leaves to the background because I wanted to do some sewing on a few of them. Once I liked the layout, I did some gold stitching on the Paper Bag Kraft cardstock leaves. It gave them some definition. I backed the photo with some of the parchment paper for a light layer. It has been my go to and has quickly replaced vellum for layering. To finish of the layout, I added a title and some SpiegelMom Scraps sequins in a coordinating color.
