Father's Day Tool Box Gift Card Holder

Father's Day Tool Box Gift Card Holder

Hi, Crafty Friends! Father’s Day is this weekend, so let’s treat our favorite guys to something special! If you’re buying them their favorite gift cards, then you’ll definitely want to keep following along to see how we package them.

SUPPLIES:
  • Cardstock Warehouse Papers:
    • Pitch Black Lessebo Colours 83lb
    • Cement Lessebo Colours 83lb
    • Salt Water Lessebo Colours 83lb
    • Amazon Lessebo Colours 83lb
    • Shitake Lessebo Colours 83lb
  • Craft Tape
  • 2 Way Zig Pen
  • Mounting Tape
  • Vinyl

Once you have all of your supplies gathered, we can begin!

I purchased an SVG file from Etsy. Here is the exact link to purchase it. You will then need to unzip the file and upload it into Design Space. Here is what it will look like once uploaded.

The great thing about this specific file, is you could use it for Father’s Day, Birthdays, and as a Congratulations gift too!

Next, let’s sort our colors for each cut. I am using Shitake for the box, Cement for the base of the tools, Amazon for the handles of the tools, Salt Water for the front of the ribbon and Pitch Black for the base of the ribbon. For the “Happy Father’s Day” phrase, I used black vinyl that I cut using my Cricut. I used the “vinyl” setting.

Next we can begin assembling. Fold the box along the score lines and adhere accordingly. Then take the mounting tape and adhere the rectangular piece to the front of the box, this will add some dimension! Next, take the thin piece and glue it to the handle of the toolbox.

Now, adhere the tools together. The piece cut in the Amazon color will go on top of the piece cut in the Cement color. Then, fold and adhere the two tags, and fold it up to create your pocket. This is where your gift card will go.

Finally, let’s put together the ribbon. Layer the outline piece cut in Salt Water to the top of the piece cut in Pitch Black. Then, take the circle that is also cut in Salt Water and adhere it to the center of the ribbon. Then, using transfer tape, adhere your black vinyl to the ribbon.

Look how cute this is when it's all put together! I love the idea of jazzing up a gift card to make it more personal.

I made a few of these for all the special dads in my life!
