Hello crafty friends! I hope you're having a great day! Mother's Day is right around the corner, so what better way to prepare than by creating Mother's Day cards? Giving handmade cards is a great way to show how much you care about someone, and are also super fun to make! Let's get started.
Gather the following supplies:
- Cardstock Warehouse Paper:
- Lessebo Colours 83lb Flamingo, Evergreen, White, and Sunflower
- Antique Gold Stardream 105lb
- Pop-Tone Sour Apple 100lb
- Black Mirror
- Stardream Lagoon 105lb
- Pink Ink (I'm using Distress Oxide Picked Raspberry)
- Blending Brush
- Flower Die
- Foliage Die
- Sentiments Dies
- Large Alphabet Dies
- Background Die or Embossing Folder
- Misti Stamp Tool
- Layered Geometric Shapes Dies (Any shape you want!)
- Liquid Adhesive
First, I used Honey Bee Stamps Lovely Layers Tulip and Spring Greenery dies to die cut my floral pieces from the cardstock colors listed above. I then used a blending brush to apply Picked Raspberry Distress Oxide to the flower. Adding ink to die cuts is a great way to add dimension and make them POP!
Next, I used Spellbinders Hexi-Gem die to cut one larger size from Antique Gold and the next size down from White Lessebo. You can use whatever shaped dies you have, or hand-cut diamond shapes as well.
I chose to create a 4.25x5.5 top folding cardbase from Stardream Lagoon. If you don't want to create your own, you can order pre-cut folded cards from the Cut Cards section! I also cut a background panel using Honey Bee Stamps Swirling Leaves Cover Plate Die. You can use any background die you have, or run it through an embossing folder. Once cut/embossed, trim this piece down to 4x5.25 and adhere it to your card base. Finally, I adhered the die cut flowers and sentiment to the card front and the MOM sentiment on the inside of the card.
For a final touch, I added a few little flat-back pearl embellishments. Now your card is ready to give to your mom! She is sure to love that you took the time to make something special just for her!
