Hey there! I am so excited to share this project with you! I absolutely love how it turned out and will definitely make more of these die cut cards using Sirio Colors that are brand new to the Cardstock Warehouse shop! I love how they pair together effortlessly to make such a stunning and elegant card perfect for pairing with a wedding gift, or just to let someone know you’re thinking of them. So! Without further ado, let's get started!
First you will need the following Cardstock Warehouse Cardstock Papers:
- Steel Blue Foundations
- Dark Blu Sirio
- Whitewash Foundations
- Bianco Pergmenata Parchment
- Natural Pergmenata Parchment
- White Birch Wood Veneer
- Oatmeal Speckletone Envelopes
As well as:
- Die Cutting Machine
- Embossing Folders of your choice
- Foliage Dies of your choice (I'm using the Boxwood Wreath dies from The Greetery)
- Adhesive - I used liquid glue & ATG
- Foam tape
- Alcohol based markers
First, I selected my cardstock colors. I listed those above so you can get some for yourself! Seriously the new Sirio Colors are absolutely amazing! I just love them all! I first discovered Cardstock warehouse on Amazon, I was looking for a good Kraft Cardstock and had been disappointed time and time again with other brands, the color wasn’t right or the weight wasn’t right, there was always something missing. After I received my first order, I began buying all the colors! That was about two years ago now and I couldn’t be happier with the wide variety, selection and weights of these papers. I only use CSWH papers now. I have so much of it; but as a paper crafter, is it possible to have too much?
This project came together effortlessly once I chose my colors. I started by die cutting elements using dies from The Greetery. Their dies are beautiful and make it so easy to create beautiful cards when combined with Cardstock Warehouse Cardstock. Anything I die cut but don’t use, I save for future projects.
So I die cut leaves from Steel Blue Cardstock as well as Bianco and Natural Pergamenata Parchment. The wreath elements were cut from Whitewash, both Bianco and Natural Pergamenata Parchment, as well as White Birch Wood Veneer. I also cut a full wreath background layer and the sentiment for the wreath out of White Birch Wood Veneer. I also cut a couple of layers of Whitewash to layer behind the sentiment and give it more depth.
Then I embossed backgrounds using Dark Blu Cardstock that I cut down to 4 ¼” x 5 ½” and an embossing folder. (I also made one in Steel Blue that I am saving for another project.) I also cut the layers for the card background layering them together to create a flat card base in A2 size 4 ¼” x 5 ½”. For the card base I am using Dark Blu embossed panel, Whitewash, Bianco Pergamenata Parchment, and Steel Blue.
Once I had all the layers ready, I colored my boxwood wreath leaves using Copics. Once I added shadows to the leaves, I assembled the Wreath following the instructions that came with the die set. I attached the wreath to a Bianco Pergmenata wreath base using liquid glue. Then I colored the edges of the Birch Wood Veneer wreath background and attached the wreath to it. Next I added a couple of sprigs of boxwood from Natural Pergmenata parchment that were cut earlier, tucking them under the wreath to give it a bit more texture.
I added some color to the sentiment to make it look a bit weathered. Then glued the sentiment layers together to create a more dimensional and sturdy sentiment layer. After it was layered I adhered it to the wreath. When the wreath part of the card was finished I added foam tape to the back of the wreath.
Before assembling the card base and background I used some Ink on 3 watermark ink to give the edges a bit of a darker color. Then I trimmed and layered my card base layers together and mounted them onto the card base. From bottom to top, my card base is Steel Blue, Bianco Pergamenata Parchment, Whitewash, and then the Dark Blu embossed panel. The sizes for each layer of the base are:
- Steel Blue Bottom Piece- 4 1/4" x 5 1/2"
- Bianco Pergamenata Parchment- 4 1/8" x 5 3/8"
- Whitewash- 4" x 5 1/4"
- Dark Blu Sirio (the embossed layer)- 3 7/8" x 5 1/8"
Once the card base was assembled, I added the wreath to it and finished it off by adding some rhinestones and bending some of the leaves up to give it more depth.
I paired my card with an Oatmeal Speckletone envelope because my card just looked perfect with it! Did you know Cardstock Warehouse has begun offering envelope selections to their lineup as well!?
