I began by die cutting all of the elements for my gift tags. For the red, white, and black elements, I used Lessebo Cherry, White, and Pitch Black, respectively. I die cut Santa’s face and nose from Sirio Nude and his mouth from Woodstock Rosa. I used Lessebo Kelly Green for the holly leaves.
Onto the back of the red mugs, I stamped “to” and “from” with Versafine Onyx Black ink. To give Santa his rosy cheeks and nose, I applied Worn Lipstick Distress Ink with a detail blender.
To assemble each gift tag, I first glued the red handle to the mug, the black circles (eyes) onto the white ones, and the nose onto the mustache. Next, I adhered the beard to the mug and inlaid the face.
I attached the eyebrows with thin foam squares and glued on the eyes and mouth. Finally, I affixed the mustache with thin foam squares and glued the leaves and berries. To give the berries some dimension, I added highlights with a white gel pen.
To finish the tags, I punched a small hole in each and threaded some bakers’ twine through the holes.
These tags turned out so cute, and I can’t wait to add them to my gifts this year!
