Paper Scraps Lollipop Flowers Scrapbook Layout

Hi Everyone!  If you’re anything like me, you may have a large stash of leftover scrap paper. I save pretty much everything just in case I can use it later. Today, I’m sharing one of my favorite ways to use up my scrap stash, creating flowers. I have made many layouts using up scraps this way. For this layout, I chose to go with an old school flower design, the lollipop.

Paper scrap cardstock circles for lollipop flowers

To start, I used my Martha Stewart circle cutter to cut out a whole pile of circles in various colors.  I used a gradient of colors all pulled out of my Cardstock Warehouse scrap stash (yes, it has its own category!). I used all types of paper from Pop-Tone to Stardream.  I love how all of the different paper colors coordinate so well together! If you don’t have a circle cutter you can easily cut these circles out by hand. My circle cutter turned out to be broken so I struggled and ended up having to fix my circles with scissors.

Next, I chose the lighter colors in each colorway to stamp on.  I wanted to add a subtle pattern so I chose a floral background stamp from Hero Arts to add one layer of pattern to each flower.  I adhered each circle group together to create the adorable flowers. I pulled out my jar of buttons and finished each flower off with a button center. I felt like it was missing a little something so I added a Lemon Drop yellow center to each flower. A few of them I used my fringe scissors to add some more texture. I added coordinating embroidery floss to the buttons for more fun.

To finish up, I created my floral bouquet by adding the stems and leaves to the flowers. I wanted to add something extra to my background so I added a thin strip of the Cherry Wood Veneer paper to the left side.

I added my title and embellished the page with more buttons and some phrase stickers that I created using the Diamond Glitter Print paper. I had so much fun putting this layout together! It’s super simple yet really makes an impact in your album. If you are interested in seeing more of my process, check out the video below!
