Hello Sunshine Summer Fruit Handmade Card

Hello Sunshine Fruit Card

Hello crafty friends! I hope you're having a great day! Summer is almost here, so I'm celebrating the season early by creating a fruity fun card. I love these bright colors and they really give the feeling of a warm summer day! Let's get started. Here's what you'll need...

Supplies:

  • Cardstock Warehouse Paper:
    • Lessebo Colours 100 lb. White, Canary, Evergreen, and Cherry
    • Mirror Black and Gold
  • Distress Oxide Salty Ocean
  • Blending Brush
  • Fruit and Foliage dies (or comparable svg files)
  • Teardrop Floral Stencil (or embossing folder or other stencil)
  • Hello Sunshine Sentiment Die
  • Spellbinders Etched Frame Dies
  • Black Gelly Roll Pen
  • Adhesives:
    • Liquid Glue
    • Foam Tape

First, I used the Spellbinders Etched Frame die to cut a panel for the card from white Lessebo cardstock. I used the next largest die and Gold Mirror cardstock to cut the mat for the card. I just love the shine of the gold mirror cardstock, and I use it on almost every card!

I then used a blending brush to add Salty Ocean Distress Oxide to the center of the white panel. Next, I used a rectangle die to cut an additional panel for the card. I used my Teardrop Floral stencil and a dome blending tool to apply black ink to the panel. If you don't have a stencil you want to use, you can also run your panel through an embossing folder, or use a background stamp to create a background. You can really use your imagination here!

I used the Hello Sunshine dies to cut the sentiment shadow from White Lessebo cardstock, and the sentiment from Black Mirror cardstock. I then adhered them together with liquid adhesive. If you want extra dimension, you can cut two layers and glue them together.

Then, I adhered the panel layers and sentiment to the card front. Next, it's time to position the fruit on the card front and use liquid adhesive and foam tape to adhere to the card panel. I love the dimension that foam tape gives handmade cards. Finally, I used a black Gelly Roll pen to color the heart-shaped seeds, making this card project complete.

I love the way this turned out and can't wait to send it off to a friend to brighten their day! I love making handmade cards because they bring so much joy to people.
