DIY Travel Eye Spy Game Box

Travel Eye Spy Game Box

There are a lot of people hitting the road to do some last minute road trips before school starts up. Let's create a few of these fun game boxes to keep the kiddos occupied!

To create this travel game box, you will need:

  • Cardstock Warehouse Paper:
    • Salt Water Lessebo Colours 100lb
    • Navy Blue Lessebo Colours 111lb
    • Giallo Woodstock 83lb
  • Cricut Maker
  • Scoring tool
  • Perforation Blade
  • Glue
  • Extra Fine Point Cricut Pen
  • Small treats or prizes

It’s time to make some last minute memories before this summer season is over and all the kids head back to school. Sometimes those long road trips you decide to make end up with grumpy kids or eyes glued to screens. Instead of putting up with grumps or kids missing the beauty along the road, make this fun eye spy game for the kids to pass the time and to look at all the beautiful surroundings while you travel. Mix up the items they are looking for to coordinate with the locations you are traveling through, or make multiple boxes for longer travel times. You could also use this as a party favor box and switch up the icons to match your party theme.

Now that you have everything you need, let’s get to work creating this fun eye spy game!

To begin, cut all of your pieces on your cutting machine. The cutting file for this project can be found by clicking this link to Cricut Design Space: Travel Eye Spy Game Box. I used my fine point Cricut pen for the drawings.

After cutting out all of your paper pieces, you’ll start by assembling the top of the box. Fold along all of the score lines on the box. Next, you are going to glue the tabs of the top of the box.

Then, we are going to assemble the bottom of the box. Begin by folding along the score lines on each of the pieces of the bottom of the box. Once you have folded all of the score lines, glue the tabs of each piece together and fold in the bottom and top flaps of the box. Next, you’re going to glue in the bottom piece of the box for stability.

Next, fold all of the box insert pieces along the score lines on the sides. Then you will slide together the slits in each of the insert pieces to make the box divider. Glue the box divider into the bottom of the box.

Now that your box is complete, fill each section of the box with small treats or prizes.

The last step is to glue on the lid. Now your box is complete!

This game box is easily customizable and easy to make, so you can have plenty on hand for bored kids in the car!
