Birth Flower Vintage Postage Stamp Art

Hey there! It’s Kira and I am back with another fun project using my favorite Cardstock Warehouse papers.

Let's get started!

Supplies:

  • Cardstock Warehouse Papers:
    • Cipria Woodstock 83#
    • Limestone Materica 92#
    • Gesso Materica 92#
    • Verdigris Materica 66#
    • Giallo Woodstock 83#
    • Rosa Woodstock 83#
  • Paper
  • Scissors
  • Colored Pencils
  • Bearly Art® Glue
  • Frame (optional)

The other day I was scrolling TikTok and came across a post where someone had tattooed a bouquet of flowers representing their family’s birth month flowers. I thought this was such a cute idea and knew I had to try and replicate it in a more Kira-esque way.

Since I didn’t want to copy someone else’s art completely, I took some steps to make this more original. My husband and I met when working at the post office, so I thought it would be cute if I used the flowers and made them look like they were part of a vintage stamp.

I thought the smaller I could make the flowers, the cuter they would look (also more difficult to make, but I didn’t realize this until I was in too deep). I cut the background paper of my stamps to about 1.5in x 2.5in.

Then I used lots of reference images to free hand draw all the pieces of my flowers. If drawing isn't your thing, you could use Cricut files to create this. Here is a Cricut project with some similar designs.

My husband is a December baby so I made a narcissus for him.

My oldest son is an August baby, so he got a poppy.

And my youngest son is a March baby, so his flower is a daffodil.

Once all my flower pieces were cut out, I glued them together with some Bearly Art® liquid adhesive and adhered them on the background papers along with some greenery. I also used markers to add some small details.

For the stamp-like edge, I found a silhouette through a google image search and cut it out on my Cricut. You can also use the one in the Cricut file linked above.

To finish it off, I adhered onto some Rosa paper and inserted into a frame without the glass. I absolutely love how this came out and it is a great addition to my spring décor.
