Hi everyone! Today I have a fun two-page layout to share with you that features some of my favorite holiday photos to take, the Christmas tree. Every year I take a photo of our Christmas tree and the kids sitting in front of it. I love to see the progression of how much things have changed over the years. I don’t usually make two-page layouts but this time I really wanted to add multiple photos and this is a great way to do that.
Supplies Needed:
- Pencil
- Scissors or die cutting machine
- Mini Glue Dots & other adhesives of choice
- Twine
Cardstock Warehouse Cardstock Papers
- Bright Green
- Cherry Wood Veneer
- Wild Cherry Pop-Tone
- Gold Touch Sparkle
- Gold Mirror
- Green Mirror
- Black Sparkle
- Evergreen Sparkle
- Jupiter Stardream
- Anthracite Stardream
- Sirio Ultra Black
Optional:
- Ribbon
- Trim
- Alphas
- Star punch
The first half of the layout features a large 3D tree. I started by creating the tree by drawing a basic tree shape. I used the Bright Green cardstock because it was the perfect shade of green for what I was looking for. When I was happy with the shape, I cut it out and traced it 5 more times. I folded the trees in half and assembled my tree.
To do this you glue one half of a tree to the next. But you want the tree to lay flat so don’t glue that last 2 sides together unless you want a 3D tree to decorate with. I adhered the tree to the left side of my page and added a trunk from a scrap piece of Cherry Wood Veneer.
I created my own decorations using scraps of Wild Cherry Pop-Tone, Gold Touch Sparkle, and Gold Mirror Cardstock. I connected each of the lights with some twine from my stash using a Black MirriSparkle star and a Mini Glue Dot. I finished off the tree by adding a Gold Touch Sparkle star to the top of the tree.
Next, I started on the right side of my two-page spread. On this side, I wanted to have a stack of presents. Each present is cut out of different colors of cardstock (Anthracite, Gold, Jupiter, Green). They are just basic squares and rectangles in various sizes. I added “ribbons” to each present using a scrap of Sirio Ultra Black cardstock then topped each one with actual ribbon bows. To make the two pages more cohesive I created a string of Green Mirror lights.
To finish the layout I added my photos to the center of each page. I lined them up so that I had space for my title. I continued the title on the other side of the page to bring everything together.
I felt that the white space at the top of the page was too big so I added a little trim above the photos. To finish everything off I added a bunch of stars that I punched out of the Sparkle papers I had left.
