Die Cut Layered Flower Card

Die Cut Layered Flower Card

Hello, crafty friends! Ivy here from ivypinkmade. Today I have a simple card to share with you that is so easy to make multiples of. You can make them all the same or change up the sentiment on the inside and use it for different occasions. Let's get started, shall we?

    • Sirio Turchese
    • Sirio Limone
    • Black Licorice
    • Sweet Tooth
    • Sour Apple
    • Red Hot
  • Scor Tape
  • Zip Dry
  • Paper trimmer
  • Whimsy Stamps Peony Die
  • Sizzix Big Shot
  • Alcohol Ink Marker
  • Foam Tape
  • Stickles
  • Rhinestones
  • Fine Point Pens
  • Wink of Stella
  • Swiss Dots embossing folder

Supplies for Layered Flower Card

To start, cut the base card stock layers to the following sizes:

  • Black Licorice card stock into an A2 card
  • Sweet Tooth = 4¼” x 5¼”
  • Black Licorice= 4” x 5

Using the floral die cuts, run the die through a die cut machine in these colors: Sirio Turchese, Sirio Limone, Sour Apple, and Red Hot. I used 3 layers per color in different sizes.

Emboss the black licorice 4” x 5” layer with an embossing folder. I used a polka dot one, but you can use any embossing folder you have on hand.

Adhere the base layers and figure out the layout of the flowers. I used 3 flower layers per color. To add a little dimension, draw a thin outline on each petal.

This part is optional if you want to add some shimmer to the flowers.

Use Wink of Stella on the edge of the flower petals and then use your finger to rub around the rest of the flower. This will give the flower a little bit of a shimmery finish.

Adhere the flowers to the card base. A little trick I like to do is for the first flower I adhere it with Zip dry. The next layers I adhere with foam tape to give it dimension. I added rhinestones to the center of the flowers but I think they would be cute with buttons and pearls as well.

Last little detail is adding veins to the leaves. I used a shade that is almost the same shade as the paper so it doesn't stand out too much.

For the final touch, add small dots of Stickles randomly to some of the embossed dots.

I think this card would be great to give for any occasion! By changing the sentiment on the inside it can easily be a thank you or a birthday card. So easy to make multiples to keep in your card stash.
