DIY Accordion Mini Album

Hello everyone! I have thousands of pictures that will take me 100 lifetimes to scrapbook. A mini album is a great way to show off a bunch of photos at one time. I wanted to show how my kids have changed over the years. Today I’m walking you through how to create a cute mini album to show off your pictures!

Supplies needed:

• Scissors, punch, or die cutting machine
• Adhesive of your choice

• Cardstock Warehouse Cardstock Papers
• Pop-Tone Sweet Tooth 100# cardstock
• Pop-Tone Blu Raspberry 100# cardstock
• Pop-Tone Grape Jelly 100# cardstock
• Pop-Tone Razzle Berry 100# cardstock
• Pop-Tone Lemon Drop 100# cardstock
• Pop-Tone Pink Lemonade 100# cardstock

Optional:

• Alphabet stickers
• Die cuts or other embellishments
• Sewing machine or hand-stitching tools
• Closing mechanism (brads & twine, magnets, velcro, etc)
• Ribbon, thread, and/or twine
• Patterned paper  

To start, I purchased and cut out the Accordion Mini Album with Tags from Paige Evans on the Silhouette Design Store. Paige Evans also has an independent Etsy shop that sells her cut files and they are compatible with other cutting systems. You can also create this basic album on your own without a cut file but the convenience factor was huge for me!

I used the Sweet Tooth cardstock to cut the cover of the album. The pages I used the bright Pop-Tone colors to cut 2 of each color. Then I attached the pages together using ATG adhesive tape. When I make another mini album, I will be stitching the pages together to make them stronger.  

The next step I did was create the cover. I added some 6x6 pattern papers from Crate Paper and Paige Evans. I added the brads to act as my closure. Then I used the Pink Lemonade cardstock to cover up the backs of the brads and to finish decorating the cover. I adhered the pages of the album to the cover. Again I used ATG but I would recommend sewing them in. I put a pattern paper on the back cover that pops out behind the pages.  This just added a little more detail to the project.

The final step is to decorate your album. There are many different ways that you could do this. It’s all up to what looks good to you. I used mostly Paige Evans die cuts and papers to decorate my pages. I added photos of my kids from each year between 2009 and 2018 to each page. I created pockets on some pages to tuck in extra photos. I added photos to tags and put a ribbon on them to allow them to easily slide in and out of the pockets. Everything is completely up to you!

After it was complete, I did go back and sew some of the pockets and pages just to make them stronger. I added some alpha stickers from my stash to the cover for the title. I left spaces for some journaling that I will complete later.
