Hey there! It’s Kira and I am back with another fun Christmas project using some gorgeous Cardstock Warehouse papers. We LOVE advent calendars in our house. My kids usually have a couple each and my husband and I put together ones for each other too. So of course for this month’s project, I needed to make yet another to add to our collection. As my kids get older, they are moving away from wanting toys and would much prefer cash or gift cards. These little advent boxes are perfect for just that!
Supplies:
- Cardstock Warehouse Papers:
- Evergreen Lessebo Colours 83 lb.
- Nude Sirio Color 80 lb.
- Lampone Sirio Color 80 lb.
- Cipria Woodstock 105 lb.
- Adhesive
- Scrapbook embellishments
I started by creating all of the boxes. (24 of them!) Cut a piece of cardstock to 5.5x10.5”. I did 6 each in the 4 colors listed above.
Then I scored each side of the short side at 0.75”. Then I scored the long side at 0.75, 4.75, 5.5, and 9.75. When you are done, it should look like the one below:
Once the paper is scored, some of the score lines need to be cut. I cut it at each of the corners and also where the box will fold in the center.
Once the boxes were all cut, scored and folded, I used a liquid adhesive to adhere into the box shape. Then the fun part…decorating!
I decorated each box with my Christmas supplies and numbered them 1-24. I made sure to stagger where on the box I adhered the decorations so that nothing would be covered by other boxes.
You could just stop here and put your boxes in a cute basket or box, but I decided to create a container for my boxes using 3 wood pieces from the dollar tree and some clear plastic film (like you would use for a shaker card). I glued the wood together and painted it white. Then on the front, I hot glued the plastic film.
To finish off the box, I decorated with some paper presents and stripes on each side.
I love how this turned out and it was such a fun project to get me into the Christmas spirit.
