DONUT
To create my Donut, I used a die cut file that is no longer available, but you can search your machine for a donut file you like. Cardstock Warehouse also has a FREE Donut template HERE.
The Donut was cut out using Cardstock Warehouse Black Licorice, China White, and Pink Lemonade. See all of the papers in our Valentine's Day Cardstock Collection.
I like giving the edges of my die-cuts some light inking to give them a bit more dimension, but this is completely optional. I decorated my donut with some Heart die-cuts I made using my Cricut Cuttlebug Machine and metal dies. You could also use Heart Stickers or Foam Hearts from your local craft or dollar store. I then used my EK Success ZIG Glue Pen to adhere the hearts to my donut. To add personalization to my donut, I used some face stamps and added details using a White Gel Pen and Pink Color Pencil. Your Donut is now ready to add to your box.
DONUT GIFT BOX
To create my Donut Gift Box, I searched my machine's software for a 3d favor box that I liked.
I cut out my box using the Cardstock Warehouse Berrylicious Blue Pop-Tone. This cardstock comes in a 100 lb. cover which is perfect for these kinds of projects. It’s sturdy so you know your box will hold up to some weight, but yet easy to score and work with. If you are not sure about the differences of paper weights or if your machine will cut them out, be sure to take a look at the Paper 101 Guide from Cardstock Warehouse.
Once I had my box cut out, I folded all my score lines and used Scor-Tape Adhesive to assemble my box following the instructions included with the cutting file. All sentiments are from Jaded Blossom and were stamped onto some Cardstock Warehouse White Sweet Tooth cardstock. I just love the look of my stamps on this paper!
To finish off my box, I tied some ribbon around the handle, added a button with twine and my sentiment. To the front of the box I added the Donut I had made earlier, another sentiment piece and some enamel dots.
The Donut Box Holder is now ready to be filled with a delicious valentine donut and given to someone special. I added my donut to a plastic bag from my local craft store and tied with some twine.
Now, it’s your turn to make your own Donut Gift Box. We’d love to see! Be sure to show us on Facebook or Instagram.
Thank You for stopping by!
