Do you enjoy browsing Pinterest? It’s one of my favorite apps to scroll when I have some time to kill, and sometimes I stumble upon a picture that serves as inspiration for future layouts. I even have a board within my scrapbook board that is titled “non-scrappy inspiration” and that is exactly where the inspo for this layout came from. Here's my inspiration pic from Pinterest. (From ARTBAR Blog)
Since I am a story based scrapbooker, I knew I had to find the perfect story to go with this idea. Luckily cute quotes from my kids are come by frequently, so this story about my son calling me the “god of love and flowers” worked perfectly with the heart theme.
I started by cutting some of my papers in 1-1.5” strips and then further cutting them down into rectangles and squares.
Then, using the size of the rectangles as a guide, I hand drew some hearts in a variety of colors. I hand-cut these out with my scissors.
Once I decided on the placement, the rest of the layout flew together. I popped most of the hearts up on foam adhesive before adhering to the rectangles. I attached one heart directly to the rectangle, wrapped it with some baker’s twine, and popped the entire thing up on foam adhesive.
I typed out my journaling in the bottom right hand corned of the page, and on the reverse page printed out a full-sized photo of my son surrounded by a bunch of his snuggles (because, per his story, he is the god of snuggles).
I finished the layout off by adding a title and a few puffy sticker embellishments. And that’s it!
