March is just around the corner and my family and I are counting down the days to spring break! When we are on the road, my daughter and I love to document our trips in small travel journals. We make a new one for every trip and store them on our living room bookshelf so we can reminisce about our trip whenever we want!
The Cherry Wood Veneer from Cardstock Warehouse makes the perfect cover for these books because it is durable yet also flexible.
SUPPLIES:
- One sheet of each color from Cardstock Warehouse Cardstock Papers
- die cut files (links below)
- glue pen
- scor tape
- needle
- strong or waxed thread
- thumb tack
- ruler
- scissors
- craft knife
- scor tape
- plain white copy paper (8 sheets per book)
You can download transparent .pngs of the beach and mountain die cut files
hand-illustrated by Erica by clicking on the images below:
Once downloaded, you can import these images into the die cutting machine of your choice. If you don't have a die cutting machine, you can print them and use them as tracing stencils to cut your paper.
Once all your pieces are cut, follow the instructions in the video below to assemble your journal.
I absolutely love the way the Pergamenata Bianco Parchment looks on these clouds and mountain snow. I also used a white gel pen to add accents to the letters.
Making your own Travel Journal for spring break? We’d love to see! Be sure to show us on Facebook or Instagram.
Happy Crafting!
