DIY Dimensional Die-Cut Table Numbers

DIY Dimensional Die Cut Table Numbers

Printed table numbers are nice, but sometimes you want something with a little more pizazz! These Dimensional Die-Cut Table Numbers are a perfect way to add a special touch to your table decor for your wedding or big event. You can frame the numbers plain, or add embellishments to the frame. Let's get started!

Supplies

  • Cardstock Warehouse Cardstock Papers
    • Parcel Wrap Kraft 100lb (base)
    • Natural Colorplan 100lb (lower number layer)
    • Natural Colorplan 65lb (peony flower)
    • Copper Stardream 105lb (middle number layer and twigs)
    • Mid-Green Colorplan 100lb (top number layer and leaves)
  • Beacon Zip Dry Glue
  • Foam Tape
  • Paper Cutter
  • Hot Glue Gun
  • Electronic Die-Cutting Machine
  • Font of choice for numbers
  • Flower and Leaf Dies or Die-Cut Files (optional)
  • Frames

To get started, open the design software on your electronic die-cutting machine. I am using Cricut Design Space. Choose a font and create an individual text box for each number. My numbers are about 3.75" tall so that they will fit on a 4"x6" base with enough room around the edges to fit in a 4"x6" frame. (Don't forget that a frame opening is 1/2" smaller than the paper you put inside of, so the opening of a 4"x6" frame is only 3.5"x5.5".) I am making the numbers 1 through 8.

Once you have all your numbers, change them to the color you will be cutting them out of. I am using Mid-Green for the top layer. Select all of your numbers and click the "offset" button. Set the offset to .125, make sure the "weld offsets" box is UNchecked, then click apply. While they are all still selected, change them to the color for that later. My middle layer will be Copper Stardream. While that layer is still selected, click on the "offset" button again and click "apply" to create a third layer. Change this layer to your third color. I am using Colorplan Natural.

Now you are ready to cut! While your numbers are cutting, choose a color for the base/back panel of your table numbers. I am using Parcel Wrap Kraft. Cut out as many pieces as you need in the correct size for your frame. I cut eight 4"x6" sheets.

Once all your numbers are cut, assemble the number pieces using Beacon Zip Dry glue. I like this glue because it has a small applicator tip, and if a little squishes out around the edges, you can wait for it to dry and rub it off with your finger.

To make the numbers really POP, I attached them to the base with foam tape.

Repeat this process for all of your numbers.

Once you have all of your table numbers assembled, it is time to frame them. I recommend leaving the glass out of the frame when you frame them. This will prevent glares from lighting, candles, and photography. You can put them in a frame and leave them the way they are, or you can add embellishments to the outside of the frame. I cut some Mid-Green leaves, a Colorplan Natural 3D flower, and some Copper Stardream little sprigs and attached them to the outside of my frame with hot glue. I love how these really elevated the design.

See, wasn't that easy? Your guests are sure to be impressed by your beautiful table numbers at your event! Functional AND gorgeous! Does it get any better?

You can change the colors and fonts around on these table numbers to fit the theme of any event. You can also run the base layer through an embossing folder to add even more interest and dimension. Here are just a few examples.
