Hi, Crafty Friends! Mother’s Day weekend is here! You may be on the hunt for a last minute gift or the perfect gift. Gift cards are always simple and easy but it’s always fun to spruce up the packaging and make the gift receiver feel even more special, especially when it’s your MOM!
Follow along as we make a cute floral paper bag Mother’s Day gift card holder.
Gather these supplies:
- Cardstock Warehouse Papers:
- Woodstock Cipria 83lb
- Materica Acqua 66lb
- Materica Verdigris 66lb
- Colorplan Rust 65lb
- Colorplan Sorbet Yellow 65lb
- Materica Kraft 66lb
- Lessebo Bubblegum 83lb
- Lessebo Purple Haze 83lb
- Lessebo Evergreen 83lb
- Foam Tape
- Zig Glue Pen
- Electronic Cutting Machine or Metal Dies
Once you have gathered all the supplies, open up your design software. This project could also be cut with floral die cuts or by hand. For this project, I used a combination of purchased svg files and some images from Cricut Design Space. Images #M47897DDC, #M4800D523, #M47C539D4, #M47C53458, #M47C5228F and #M4048F275 are the images from Cricut Design Space. The paper bag SVG was a file I purchased from Etsy. You can grab that file by clicking here!
Next, you can begin cutting. For the paper bag I used Materica Kraft, for the “Happy Mother’s Day” phrase, I used Gold Mirror, and for the offset to the phrase I used Woodstock Cipria. For the foliage, I used a combination of Lessebo Collection Evergreen and Materica Verdigris. The flowers were a combination of Materica Aqua, Woodstock Giallo, Lessebo Bubblegum and Purple Jade, and Colorplan Rust.
Now we can begin assembling the gift card holder. Start with the paper bag cut out. Fold along the score lines and adhere with crafters tape. Once the bag is secured, we can add the flowers. I recommend adding the phrase first with a small piece of foam tape in the center, and placing the flowers around the phrase. That way it will look more full and none of the flowers will get covered by the phrase. I let some of my flowers hang over the edge of the bag.
Once the beautiful pieces are adhered to the paper bag, add their favorite gift card to the inside and that’s it! It’s the perfect way to dress up a simple gift.
The gift card bag file is so versatile, too! You can change up the theme to turn these into teacher gifts, birthday gifts, etc!
