Paper Leaves Wreath and Garland

Fall is just around the corner! The air is starting to get crisp in the evening and the leaves are starting to change in our neck of the woods. 

Fall is our favorite time of year to host people at our home, and these beautiful paper leaves are the perfect way to spruce up our table! Paper leaves create endless possibilities for fall decor, including garlands, wreaths, place cards, place mats, table runners, napkin rings, gift tags, invitations and more. 

To start, you will need to cut your leaves. We used our Cricut and the 3D Floral Home Decor cartridge for the leaf template, and added score lines to give them a more 3D effect. You can access our Cricut Design Space fall leaves file here. (Formatted for 8.5"x11" sheets) If you do not have a Cricut Scoring Stylus, you can score the leaves by hand after they are cut. Fold the leaves slightly along the score lines to make them pop!

We used the following Cardstock Warehouse Cardstock Paper colors to create our leaves: Claret, Wine, Scarlet, Tangy Orange, Orange Fizz, Lemon Drop and Desert Sand Sparkle.

WREATH

Supplies:

• paper leaves
• wreath form of your choice
• hot glue gun + glue sticks

To make your wreath, cut one sheet of the small pointy leaves out of 6-8 colors of paper. We chose Claret, Wine, Scarlet, Tangy Orange, Orange Fizz, and Lemon Drop.

Starting on one side of the wreath, add a pea-sized drop of hot glue on the back of the leaf, just above the stem, and glue to the wreath form.

Stagger the leaves and alternate the colors as you glue leaves all the way around the wreath. 

Your finished paper wreath can be hung on a door, used with a candle or vase as a centerpiece for a table, or hung on a wall to add some fall warmth to your home decor. 

GARLAND

Supplies:

• paper leaves
• twine, yarn or ribbon
• hot glue gun + glue sticks

We used 1 sheet of each paper for every style of leaf to create a reoccurring pattern that resulted in roughly 5ft of garland, with leftovers of some leaf varieties. (Since the leaves are different sizes, some styles fit more to a page.) 

We used the following colors to create our leaves: Claret, Wine, Scarlet, Tangy Orange, Orange Fizz, Lemon Drop and Desert Sand Sparkle.

Once you have all of your leaves cut, lay out your pattern on your workspace so you can use it as a reference when you are gluing. 

One leaf at a time, following your pattern, glue the back of the leaves to your twine or ribbon. We used our cutting mat under the string to prevent the garland from gluing to the table. ;-) 

Hang your finished garland on a stair rail, fireplace mantle, across the center of a table, around the guest bathroom mirror, on the wall above the couch... the possibilities are endless! 

 Here are just a few of the ways you can use your leftover leaves around the house:

• Attach one or two leaves to a 6"x1" strip of paper to create a napkin ring.
• Place cards
• Gift tags
• Lunchbox notes for the kiddos
• Labels for fall decor boxes
