Grateful For You Cardstock Paper Handmade Card - Cardstock Warehouse

Grateful For You Cardstock Paper Handmade Card

When you want to say, "Thank You," with elegance and class, but you also want to play with paper, you can make a card by hand with luxury cardstock and beautiful markers.  My favorite stamps for this have a very vintage, hand-drawn feel, so I am excited to share this project with a stamp and die bundle from Concord and 9th. Of course, I will go for my LUXURY cardstock from Cardstock Warehouse. Often, a glittery cardstock has a very rough feel to it, which can be beautiful. But I wanted the sparkle without the rough feel and I find that the Mirrisparkle cardstock from Cardstock Warehouse hits all the buttons: shiny, elegant and smooth. So let's get to work on this card:

To start, you will need to gather these supplies:

  • Cardstock Warehouse Cardstock Papers in Sirio Ultra Black, Grape Jelly, and Sweet Tooth in 100lb and Gold Touch Mirrisparkle
  • Concord and 9th Grateful Dies and Vintage Flower Bundle
  • Copic Markers in violet, yellow and blue-green
  • Alcohol safe black ink (I used Raven by Brutus Monroe)
  • Die cutting machine
  • Liquid adhesive
  • Paper trimmer
  • Stamping tool

Follow these step-by-step directions to complete your card.

  • Begin by cutting a piece of Sweet Tooth 100lb cardstock to 8" x 5.5" inches and folding it in half for a card base. Make sure you score before you fold for a clean line! (Visit our Scoring Paper 101 page to learn how.)
  • Trim the Grape Jelly cardstock to 2" x 5.5" and adhere it to the front of the card.
  • Trim the Gold Touch Mirrisparkle into two 5.5 x ⅛” wide strips and adhered to both sides of the Grape Jelly cardstock.

  • Stamp the Vintage Flower image a piece of Sweet Tooth cardstock with black ink.
  • Color the stamped image in with alcohol markers (or your favorite coloring medium) paying attention to the shaded areas for dimension.
  • Die-cut the colored image out with the Vintage Flower Die and raise the edges of the flower up where the die sliced openings in the image.

  • Adhere the flower to the front of the card with liquid adhesive.
  • Die-cut the “Grateful for You” sentiment out of Sirio Ultra Black cardstock twice and adhere them together with liquid adhesive. Then adhere the stacked sentiment to the front of the panel to finish off the card!
