Hello, crafty friends! It’s a new year and Valentine’s Day is around the corner. I'm excited to share instructions on how to create a fun, easy card project that's perfect to gift to the one you love.
Supplies:
-
Cardstock Warehouse cardstock paper:
- Lessebo Colours 100lb: Ivory and Red Rose
- Translucent Vellum 48lb.
- MirriCard Mirror Paper: Black and Gold
- Hearts Stencil
- Postage Die
- Blending Brush
- Sweet Sayings Sentiment Die
- Distress Oxide Picked Raspberry
- Bearly Art® Precision Glue
- Paper Trey Ink Rounded Hearts Die
First, I created a fun heart background panel with ink and a stencil. I used a rectangular die from my stash to create the panel shape. Then, I used a blending brush to apply Distress Oxide Picked Raspberry with a hearts stencil. I then used the remaining oxide on the brush to apply a light application of oxide to the panel.
I used the Postage Die to die cut Black Mirror card stock and adhered the hearts panel to the postage mat. I then adhered the card front to an A2 Ivory top folding card base.
Next, I used Paper Trey Ink Rounded Hearts die to die cut hearts from Lessebo Red Rose card stock. After I laid those out on my panel, I decided that I wanted to add a bit more, so I cut hearts out of Vellum to layer behind them. Once I was happy with them, I adhered them to the panel.
I then added some Gold Mirror postage die cuts, and a layered sentiment cut from Black Mirror and Vellum.
I finished the card off with a cute little red heart on the sentiment. I love the way the Vellum layers add dimension but are also translucent so you can see more of the details behind them.
I hope you enjoyed this card making tutorial, and it inspires you to create. We’d love for you to show us your cards on Facebook and Instagram! Tag your creations with #cardstockwarehouse to be featured in our stories. Be sure to follow us for more crafty inspiration!
