Madero Beach Geometric Vase Cover

Hi Everyone! Kayla here from HoneyBee Paper Co. How is it almost the end of May already?! 

Today I am on the Cardstock Warehouse blog showing you how to make a geometric cardstock vase cover for all those beautiful May flowers you have growing in your yard from all the April showers! 

Supplies: 

• Cardstock Warehouse Cardstock Papers in Madero Beach
• Cutting Machine
• Scoring Tool 
• Glue Gun 
• Permanent Glue Tape

Let’s get started! 

First, you will want to get the Geometric Vase Cover Cricut cut file. 

Before I began cutting, I altered the size of my vase to approximately 10.5” H x 7” W (please note that this will NOT be the final size of your vase). My final vase cover will be 7” H x 2.5” W. If you would like to alter the size, click “customize” and then size to your desire. 

*TIP: Be sure that when resizing multiple pieces in a project that they still fit together after resizing. The easiest way to do this is by highlighting all pieces, then dragging the arrow in the bottom right hand corner either up or down until desired size is reached. 

Once you have your vase to the desired size, it’s time to choose colors! For this project, I chose a beautiful Speckletone natural color. 

Now, let’s begin cutting. This project is so quick and easy, you could make so many vases in no time! These would be great for centerpieces at a wedding or bridal shower.

Once all pieces are cut, you will need to fold all the score lines. Then, you will curl the vase around so the two ends meet together, and then overlap one side just a bit. You will need to place a dab of glue so it stays in place. 

Now, let’s work on the base. You will want to fold along the scored lines on the base as well. For the base, instead of applying hot glue, I used a glue tape (that way I had time to slide the base into the bottom of the vase). Once you have your lines folded, apply your glue and slip the base into the bottom of the vase. 

For the top of the vase, fold down the longer scored pieces, and add a small dab of glue so it stays in place and then fold the shorter tab underneath. 

And there you have it! A beautiful geometric vase cover!
