Hey, crafty friends! Erica here from @wanderfuldesign. Fall is here and I am writing this with the window open and a 67 degree breeze flowing into my craftroom. 🥰 There is nothing I love more than crafting for this time of year! The colors of autumn are my favorite colors, and this Autumn Multipack from Cardstock Warehouse is the perfect set of nature-inspired hues to bring some autumn foliage cards to life! Grab the Autumn Multipack and an assortment of foliage and nature dies and let's get to work!
Supplies:
- Cardstock Warehouse Cardstock Paper:
- Assorted foliage and nature dies or SVG files
- Embossing folders of your choice
- Paper Cutter
- Scoring Board
- Craft Tweezers
- Adhesives:
- Bearly Art Glue
- Scor-Tape
- Foam Tape
I started by opening up my multipack and choosing papers for the card bases. I am using Shitake as the main card base, Seaweed as the mat, and Ivory for the embossed panel on the front.
The sizes of my card base pieces decrease 1/4 inch with each layer, so a 4.25x5.5 inch folding base, a 4x5.25 inch mat, and a 3.75x5 inch main panel. I cut a few of each of these so I could make multiple cards. I also scored my Shitake card bases down the middle to ensure I get a crisp fold.
Then, I used all of the colors in the multipack to cut out lots and lots of leaves, mushrooms, stems, pumpkins, gourds, and sentiment options. I knew I wanted to make a handful of cards, so I cut a ton of pieces so I would have many choices once I started assembling. (Full disclosure, I took the die cuts photo below after I had already made all my cards, so those die cuts are just what's leftover after I assembled 4 cards.)
I ran my Ivory 3.75x5 inch panels through a few different embossing folders to give some texture to the background of these cards. Then, I layered my card bases using Scor-Tape.
Pro tip- when using Scor-Tape to assemble bases, only peel back a small section of each corner, then use those as "handles" to position your layer exactly where you want it. Once you have your placement just right, you can push on those corners to stick it down, and then careful peel the rest of the backing strip off. This ensures that your tape doesn't stick to your base before you get your layer in the right spot.
I cut strips of paper that matched my card bases and ran them through a woodgrain embossing folder, and then glued on 3 layers of the same sentiment to make it nice and thick.
I then used foam tape and Bearly Art liquid glue to place my die cuts and sentiments where I liked on the card. I use my craft tweezers to place all the tiny pieces to keep glue off my fingers and make sure they stick in just the right spot! Anyone else move your pieces around 348 times before you glue everything down? No? Just me? ...Okay then.
I finished off my cards by adding a 4x5.25 inch Ivory panel to the inside of the card for me to write my message on. I can't wait to send these to some special people in my life who deserve a big "thank you" for being an amazing part of my village!
All of these die cuts came together so beautifully and I love how thick and luxurious these cards feel. The Lessebo and Sirio papers in this multipack cut SO well, and these cards are sure to bring a smile to their recipients.
Grab a cardstock multipack (or 5 😉) today and Make Something Beautiful®! You might as well grab the Christmas multipacks while you're there, because you're going to need them VERY soon!
