Halloween is just around the corner, and there’s no better time to get crafty with some spooky card projects! Today, I’m excited to share a quick and fun idea for making Halloween ghost cards using our Stardream Metallic and Diamond Print Inkjet Glitter papers. I made these for my book club friends and I know they are going to love them! Let's get started!
Supplies:
- Cardstock Warehouse Cardstock Paper:
- White Diamond Print Inkjet Glitter
- Stardream Metallic Collection 105lb: Onyx, Opal, Flame, and Amethyst
- Ghost PNGs from Creative Fabrica
- Embossing folder
- Paper cutter
- Scoring tool
- Foam tape
- Scor-Tape or double-sided tape
- Gems, rhinestones, or flat back pearls (optional)
To get started, add the ghost PNGs listed above to your electronic die cutting machine's design software and configure them for your specific machine. I am using the print-then-cut feature on my Cricut. Size them to fit on the front of the card size of your choice. I am using a 3.5x5 inch card base with two mats, so I made my ghosts about 2.6 inches wide.
Print and cut your ghosts on White Diamond Print Inkjet Glitter Paper and set them aside while you work on your card bases. I cut some Opal and Onyx Stardream cardstock down to 5x7 pieces. I scored these in the middle to make perfect 3.5x5 card bases. The Stardream paper is so thick and luxurious!
Then, I cut 3.25x4.75 mats out of Flame and Amethyst Stardream, and 3x4.5 center panels using Onyx and Opal again. You don't have to do three layers, but it adds dimension and pops of color, and makes the cards deliciously thick! Run your top panels through an embossing folder. I am using a spider web.
Layer together your three panels using Scor-Tape double-sided adhesive. I mixed and matched my mats with my card base colors, and coordinated them with the colors of the books the ghosts are holding.
Then, add foam tape to the back of your ghost and attach it to the center of the front of your card. The foam tape pops your ghosts up to make them stand out more.
Add a few little gems and you're done! These Halloween ghost cards are quick and easy to make, but the combination of Stardream and Diamond Print Inkjet Glitter papers makes them really stand out! They’re perfect for sending Halloween greetings, using as party invites, or, in my case, delighting my book club friends with a creative nod to their love of reading.
