Pastel Layered Rose Card

Pastel Layered Rose Card

Hey y’all! Stephanie here from Coffee Stamps Chaos! How are you holding up? At the time of writing this, we are about 6 weeks into our state's stay-at-home order. I am playing midwife to my cat, she just had 3 babies and it’s taking all my self control not to spend every waking second in there mother henning over them - hehe. I know their momma is doing a good job with them. They are healthy and adorable!

For the most part, things are calm around my house, there are times when it’s not at all, I have four kids at home, that are “homeschooling” - I use the term loosely because we are kind of approaching things at our own pace, it’s not a race, right? To say this has been a major transition is an understatement, but we are surviving.

Today I want to share this fun card I made using a layered rose die set I got! I was so excited about this and I have been anxiously waiting to share this project with all of you! I thought it was fun and pretty easy to make. Die-cutting is my jam and it’s easy when I have such beautiful Cardstock Warehouse papers to choose from.

Pretty in Pastels Multi-Pack

For this project you will need:

  • Cardstock Warehouse Cardstock Papers
    • Pretty in Pastels Multi-Pack
    • Pergamenata Parchment Bianco
  • Die-cutting machine
  • Flower die cut set of your choice
  • Background shape die set
  • Your favorite adhesive
  • Foam Tape
  • Embellishments
  • Glitter Spray

Steps:

  • Die-cut the rose layers - I did this for all three colors
  • Die-cut the leaf layers - I did this a few times using Spearmint so I’d have lots of leaves
  • Die-cut the background layers - 1 each of Sno Cone and Pergamenata Parchment

  • Add Versamark to edges, this makes them a little darker around the sides

Adding ink to cardstock edges

  • Assemble Flower layers
    1. glue the two bottom layers together
    2. Glue the top layers together
    3. You will have two pieces - I added foam tape to the back of the top layer of each rose to give them dimension

Layered Pastel Paper Rose Assembly

  • Assemble Leaf layers
  • Arrange flowers to your liking on your label panel

  • Glue them down or use foam tape for added dimension. Dimension adds interest to your project as a whole.

Creating layered background

  • Once my background panel was assembled, I spritzed it with shimmer spray because shimmer makes everything better, am I right?

  • After I had my label layer assembled, spritzed and dry, I added foam tape to the back of it and put it on my card base.

  • At the end, I added a few enamel dots and now it's all done!
