I began by diecutting the elements for my stocking from a variety of cardstocks, including some with shimmer and sparkle. To give the diecuts dimension, I used a combination of dye inks and Copics and then assembled each diecut with liquid adhesive.
I created a 5”x7” cardbase from White cardstock. Using an embossing folder, I added texture to a panel of Nude cardstock before trimming it down slightly and adhering it to my cardbase. The picture above shows a heat-embossed sentiment on a white circle. After assembling my stocking, I decided the circle detracted from the other elements. Instead, I heat-embossed a sentiment onto a strip of Candy Pink cardstock.
I attached the stocking to the card with foam tape, tucked in the foliage with liquid adhesive, and popped up the remaining elements with one or two layers of foam tape. Finally, I affixed the embossed sentiment strip with bits of foam and finished with a scattering of pink gems.
Thanks for stopping by! I hope you’re inspired to try some non-traditional colors on your holiday projects!
