Using each of the colors of cardstock listed above, I die cut the vintage roses using the layering guide to help me decide what shade of red should be used for each layer. I used Mirror Red for the first layer/as the darkest shade, Sirio Cherry for my second layer and mid tone, and Lessebo Cherry as my lightest shade. Kraft Paper Bag is used for the greenery and the flower centers. The little pop of red mirror is so shiny and pretty!
When layering the flower, I used a small foam square between each layer. The small highlight pieces and flower centers are adhered with liquid glue.
For all of the greenery (cut out of Paper Bag Kraft), I first inked using Twisted Citron, and then followed up with Lucky Clover ink to add depth. Once the inking was complete, I began assembling the buds.
I then added all of the assembled flowers into place, being careful to align each flower.
Setting the florals to the side to dry, I began working on my base panel. Using an A2 panel of Caffe, I inked the edges with Lumberjack Plaid. I then removed the nozzle from the bottle of white acrylic spray and flicked dots onto the panel.
While that dried, I stamped, heat embossed, and die cut my sentiment from Caffe. The heat embossing is optional, but I think it adds a nice touch to sentiments.
I then adhered the vintage roses panel to the A2 Caffe panel. I finished things off by popping up the sentiment with foam tape and adding Golden Sunset Nuvo drops to the flower centers.
I love the romatic vibe of this card and how bold these roses are, and I love how the roses pop off the card!
