Hello everyone! I'm coming at you with a super easy no-fuss St. Patrick's day shaker card. This is the perfect card for anyone, even your wonderful postman or next-door neighbor. To get started I'm going to be using all papers from the one and only Cardstock Warehouse, and yes, I'm on the design team but just LOOK at how gorgeous these papers are!! It's such a treat to be able to use this amazing colorful card stock.
I'm going to be using circle dies to cut each color a different size. You can go as big or small with your circles as you want because this is going to be our rainbow.
Cardstock Warehouse Cardstock Papers
- Razzle Berry 65 lb.
- Orange Fizz 65 lb.
- Lemon Drop 65 lb.
- Sour Apple 65 lb.
- Blue 65 lb.
Next, we need to combine these to make our rainbow, So what I like to do is line them upside down on press and seal. Then I go in and cut my circle in half and now we have two rainbows.
Moving forward we need a background for this rainbow, I opted to do a little ink blending and make some clouds. For this, I'm using Pure White 80 lb. Cut at 4 1/4 x 5 1/2. I'm going to use Tim Holtz Distress Oxide in Broken China and Wilted Violet and My favorite thing cloud stencil to ink blend clouds on this background.
Next, we need our shaker window. For this I'm using my brother scan cut 2, I'm going in the patterns and picking out the clover. I'm going to make this clover 4.24" x 3.59" and line it up in the center of a 4 1/4 X 5 1/2 Pure white card panel.
To make sure our shaker bits don't fall out we need to use a piece of plastic or acetate and tape it down to the backside of the clover cut out. I like to use tape to keep from any glue getting where my sequins are going to go, I don't want anything to not move freely. Then you will go around the clover on top of the plastic with double-sided foam tape. I like to double this up so it gives enough room for my beads and sequins to move freely.
Now don't make the same mistake I always do. Stamp your sentiment First! I always forget to do this and then have to mess around trying to get my sentiment perfect, it's such a hassle. Pick out what sequins or beads and shaky bits you want to use and place on top of the plastic and cover with the cloud background so everything is sealed inside. I'm using stars and gold seed beads, I like the beads because it helps the sequins move around more and gives a nice noise element.
I'm going to add a green border with the leftover Sour Apple card stock that we used to cut out our circles and add that to the front of the card along with the finishing touches, and I'm going to add a few sequins to the outside of the card to tie it all together.
Now we have this amazing shaker card that really takes no time and is so much fun.
Thank you so much for joining me on this fun card and I hope you get to crafting!!
