Hey y’all! Stephanie Vittorio here with another fun card to share! This time I am using a fun image from Angie Blom Designs. Of course, I can’t make a card without using Cardstock Warehouse cardstock, it’s my go-to for all of my paper crafting needs. For this project, I went with a traditional St Patty’s Day color scheme, Pure White, Forest Green and Gold Stardream.
For this project you will need:
Cardstock Warehouse Cardstock Papers
- Pure White
- Forest Green
- Gold Stardream
Other Supplies:
- Unicorn Love
- Hero Arts Nested Wood Frame
- Acetate Clear Plastic sheets - 2 cut to 4”x5 ¼”
- Shaker Elements
- SpiegelMom Scraps Gold Stardust
- Sequins - I used green and white
- Cut up Stardream Cardstock
- Non Stick Scissors
- Paper trimmer
- Adhesive
- ScorTape
- Nuvo Deluxe Adhesive
- Foam Tape
First, you want to color your main image. I used Copic Markers with my digital image from Angie Blom’s online shop, printed using my home printer onto 100lb Pure White Cardstock. I’ve included the “recipe” for markers I used to color my image, just in case you may want to try your hand at it. I promise coloring with Alcohol Markers isn't as intimidating as you may think.
Once my image was colored I trimmed it down and adhered it to my Forest Green card base. Then I began creating my “shaker” to go over the top of it. I started by die cutting my frame out of Stardream Cardstock, so I knew how big I would need the acetate to be since I would be adhering it to the back of my frame. I adhered a piece of 4” x 5 ¼” acetate to the back side of the frame. Added foam tape around the edges of the acetate to create a frame, you want to make sure there are no gaps for your shaker elements to fall out of.
Then I cut narrow strips of Stardream Cardstock into “confetti” and put that into the frame. Then I added some Gold Stardust Stars from Speigle Mom Scraps, as well as some green and white sequins. I thought this combination gave the right amount of filler and some sparkle.
Once I finished filling my shaker, I placed the other sheet of acetate to the back. Then I used Nuvo Glue to add some star glitter to the colored image panel.
I added ScorTape to the edges of the frame, and placed the frame over my colored image, which had been adhered to the card base previously.
And just like that, my card was finished! You can always add some die cut or hand cut shamrocks into yours, or really any number of fun elements to create more interest. I chose to keep mine relatively simple so that the image in it’s beautiful frame would speak for itself.
Thanks for hanging out with me today! I look forward to sharing a new project with you next month, but until then, don’t forget to check back for lots of other super cute projects from the rest of the Design Team - they are all SUPER talented!
