- BBQ SVG file from Creative Fabrica
I started out by uploading all of the files. I uploaded the SVG from Creative Fabrica to my electronic cutting machine's design software. You can cut as many of these pieces as you want. Personally, I like lots of layers, so I chose lots of the shapes. Have fun and be creative!
I planned mine ahead of time to see what colors I want on each of the layers. That was the fun part! So many options with the Lessebo Colours paper line, and they die cut SO well!
I started the gluing process with the grill and the apron. I layered the pieces together with liquid glue. I love the way the rainbow holographic layer shines in the light.
Once those were done, I moved on to the smaller pieces. I ended up using the Holographic on the top layer of most of the files. I love the flair it gave the finished design! I didn't use the sausage on the finished card. It was a too far on the burnt side.
I created a sentiment using a font I had in my software and the offset feature. Once cut, layer the Holographic sentiment letters onto the offset pieces using liquid glue. I made one version in vellum and one in acetate. I also cut a 5 in x 5 in square card base from 100 lb. Pitch Black and layered white and Cherry Wood Veneer on top. On the inside I added an offset Pitch Black layer for stability, and an offset white layer to write the message on. I used Scor-Tape to assemble the card base layers because it is so strong.
Now that all your pieces are made, let's start assembling the invitation! Lay your completed apron down flat on your card base. Lay your grill or whatever piece you chose next at an angle on top of the apron. I added foam to add some dimension so everything is not smashed together. Apply your next piece, in this case it is my oven mitt. I angled back towards the right to balance out the card. Add your fork or whatever small piece you have to the top. I also added foam dimensions to this to separate the second layer. I finished off with my very rare steak, lol!
I couldn’t decide if I wanted the sentiment to be on vellum or acetate. In the end I chose acetate, and I saved the vellum sentiment for later. I added the acetate to the middle and the letters BBQ to the right. Now your card is done! See, that wasn’t so bad, was it? I added some faux stitching around the perimeter of the card with a pen. Here are some finished pictures of the card.
I hope you enjoyed what I created! Please note that this is technically not an invitation to my backyard barbecue. Do not come to my house. Haha! However, imagine that you are at my summer events, and you have your card in hand to enter my cookout! So, what cha bringing to the cookout??
