Hi, Crafters! Kayla here and back on the Cardstock-Warehouse blog.
This month, I’m going to show you how to make a paper daisy chain banner! Anyone ever remember making daisy chains as a kid?! I was obsessed with making them and I think they are a perfect summer decor.
Come follow along! To begin, gather your supplies.
Supplies:
- Cardstock Warehouse Cardstock Papers
- Sweet Tooth Pop-Tone 100lb
- Gold Mirricard Mirror
- Lemon Drop Pop-Tone 100lb
- Gumdrop Green Pop-Tone 100lb
- Cutting Machine
- 3D Adhesive Foam Squares
- ZIG 2-Way Glue Pen
- Twine
Once you’ve gathered your supplies, let’s begin. Open a new project in Design Space. You can search for these exact images. Here are the image numbers. I used the “Summer Garland Flower” #M25AFE3, then I used “Daisy” #M338F3D2D. For this, I contoured the petals out and just used the leaves.
Lastly, in order to string the banner with the twine but not having holes in the daisies or having to glue them onto the twine, I created these squares with holes in them to adhere to the back of each daisy. I learned this creative technique from one of my favorite instagram paper crafters, Tara (Wilder Crafting).
You can also CLICK HERE to be taken directly to the Cricut project. Just cut one full set for each of the daisies you need to create your desired length.
Next, begin cutting your project. I used Sweet Tooth for the daisies and then cut the center pieces of the daisies in both Gold Mirror and Lemon Drop so I can alternate each one on the banner. Next, I cut the leaves in Gumdrop Green and lastly, I used Sweet Tooth for the back pieces where I will string the twine. 
Now for the fun part! Let’s start assembling the flowers! Begin by taking a larger petal and gluing a smaller petal on the top. Then take either a gold or yellow center and use your foam dots to adhere it to the center of the daisy. I decided to do it this way because I wanted to add some dimension to the daisies.
Once you have the daisies assembled, adhere a stem sideways to your flower. This is important because you’ll want to connect each stem to each other (so they have a chain effect). 
Next, string the twine through the daisies using the tabs we created.
Lastly, glue each stem together, one on top of the other. 
And there we have it! A beautiful Summer garland!
