Summer Waves Mini Album

Summer Waves Mini Album

Hello friends, welcome back to another blog post with Neftali. I am back sharing a fun mini album using the very same paper pack that is directed towards winter projects.

Have you ever bought something that was meant to be for a specific season, but then found yourself thinking you can manage to use it year-round?

Well, that’s exactly my thought when I saw in the shop the Winter Blues Multi-Pack Collection from the shop. Now that the weather is warming up every day, I was inspired to use those beautiful blue cardstock papers to create a fun ombre style summer book.

Let’s gather our supplies to turn these winter blues into sunny blue skies…

So, it took me a while to figure out what to include in this little book. But the idea that popped out at me was to use the Winter Blues paper pack with all five colors included. There’s something about that blue paper pack that shouted summer waves at me.

So, I used this lovely mini album cut file here. I thought it was entirely perfect to use the paper pack because each letter would be a different color. I think it worked very well with the colors in the paper pack and the letters in “summer”.

There was one little letter left, however, so I thought about just using white. But I decided that I would include the first letter “s” as a photograph just to give a hint as to what is inside the book. More photos!

I used the same cut file to cut up my photographs so I could back each of the pages. This was really exciting to see cut. Have you ever used your die cutting machine to cut photographs into shapes? I would highly recommend trying this technique!

A trick to remember is that you have to switch the orientation of your original shape to “mirror” the image. This is how I was able to add it to the back of the flaps from my mini.

Check out a few closeups here of the inside of the Mini. For the most part, I just added embellishments that I thought accentuated the image on the left. I used some fun Pinkfresh Studio and the June  2020 Hip Kits. I also added a few strands of random trim and a tassel to add some fun and interest to the whole feel of the book.
